Reflections of 2020 & Looking onto 2021

Dear friends of Sukhavati,

” Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth,
faithfulness the best relationship.”
Buddha.

Bali is slowly emerging to welcome the world back in 2021, but yes 2020 was a lonely year at Sukhavati and we have missed you all. Bali is an incredibly special place to visit and enjoy the incredible culture, the temples, the beaches, the mountains, and the people. But it is resilient and like all its setbacks has recovered. And that is for one reason, beyond everything else and that’s the people.

We are very blessed to have 50 wonderful staff who we have been able to keep employed and looking after the beautiful gardens and villas at retreat over the last 7-months. We look back over the past ten years and have been humbled and grateful for all your incredible feedback on how your stay has impacted your health and has made changes to diet, lifestyle, and your health. I think more than ever this year brings a greater focus onto the value of wellbeing for us all.

This inspires us to see that Ayurveda offers such a personalised program to heal, not just the body but the mind and this year has affected many in so many ways but with mental health a significant part of the healing that will play such an important role in 2021.

We will be open in 2021, so for those of you from different parts of the world where it is safe and allowed to travel can return to Sukhavati, and we are extremely excited to welcome you back to our oasis.

Our vision has always been to create the most important healing strategies that can bring a new level of wellness into people’s lives that participate in our programs. Nature has certainly given the world an opportunity to think about its future and realise how important health and wellbeing really are.

We may never be able to prevent new strains of COVID-19, like in the past, regardless of modern science and immunisation programs and what we have learnt is that if our health is not good then we will be more impacted. We need to make our own health a bigger part of our priorities and goals and do everything we can to develop strategies that support a resilient nervous system.

At Sukhavati retreats, this year has given us an opportunity to plan for the next five years and we have some very exciting projects that will be beginning next year in Bali and Australia, but until then wherever you are in the world at this time of year provides a time to reflect on the year that’s been and think clearly about what we want to do differently that supports our own journey towards our more ideal-self and most importantly express our gratitude to those we love in our life, family and friends.

From us all at Sukhavati, we wish you perfect health, happiness, and prosperity in 2021!
Merry Christmas!

Kind regards,

Steve Griffith & The Sukhavati team.
