Where Did It Come From?
With its origins dating back to India more than 5,000 years ago, Ayurvedic Medicine (also known as Ayurveda) is one of the world’s oldest and most detailed healing systems. Its holistic nature deems it more than a way of healing disease and illness, but an approach to life that stimulates total wellness, energy and vitality.
The term Ayurveda translates to life (Ayu) science (Veda) in the Sanskrit language. Essentially, it means ‘the wisdom of life’ or ‘the science of longevity’. It is the science that determines how life is understood and a discipline that provides us with a way to live a happy and healthy life. The healing system is based on the ancient laws of nature referred to as the Vedas; also the basis of yoga, meditation and numerous other philosophies from the East.
