Free Body Scrub Recipe

February 10,2015

Body exfoliants have been used as part of beauty regimes for thousands of years.

Scrubs are a traditional natural version to the modern day micro-dermabrasion. Its acts by sloughing off the dead skins cells, stimulating elastin and collagen and increasing blood circulation so new cells can begin to form. This decreases the effects of aging, fine lines, pigmentation, scars and enhances skin texture. Scrubs also stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems which enhance natural detoxification to keep you healthy inside and out.

Brown Sugar is a beautiful topical exfoliant as the particles are small and gentle to remove away dead skin cells and reveal the healthy skin underneath. Brown sugar granules are small enough to produce an effect, but not rough or harsh on the skin like other exfoliants that can cause microscopic tears in the skin. Brown sugar is extremely hydrating to the skin compared to other commonly used exfoliants like salt, which can be very drying and strip the skin of its natural oils.

The addition of black sesame oil acts as a natural moisturiser to soften the skin and produce a healthy glow. Sesame oil is one of the most important tools in Ayurvedic medicine. It’s one of the best remedies for nourishing both mind and body. You will find there is no need to moisturise after using this scrub.

Orange juice and zest contain amazing essential oils that uplift the mood and vitalise the senses. Topically they also help to fight cellulite, and as they are high in Vitamin C they promote the formation of collagen which enhances skin tone and integrity. It will create glowing, radiant skin.
