Ayurveda is the ancient system of healing originating in India thousands of years ago. In Sanskrit, "Ayur" means "Life" and "veda" means "knowledge" so Ayurveda is the "Science of Life" which is based on the profound insights and understanding of the laws of nature cognised by the sages or rishis of ancient times.

Ayurveda has spread throughout the world and is recognised and practiced worldwide as a unique, holistic and most practical system of health.

Ayurveda originated from basic principles that the universe is made up of five elements: air, fire, water, earth and ether. These elements are represented in humans by three "doshas", or energies: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each individual has a distinct balance of the doshas and if any of them accumulate in the body above a certain limit, the body loses its balance.

The Ayurveda approach to health focuses on getting the right balance of the three doshas or "tridoshas". In finding the right balance and to reduce excess dosha, Ayurveda recommends rejuvenation therapies, a healthy lifestyle, diet and herbal nutrition.

Panchakarma is Ayurveda's primary purification and detoxification rejuvenation therapies. Panchakarma helps remove deep rooted stress which is the primary cause of all sickness and ill health. • Work/life imbalance
  • Disturbed Sleeping patterns
  • Dietary habits
  • Lifestyles Factors
  • Abnormal Postures
  • Incompatible food combinations
  • Suppression of natural urges
  • Climatic Changes
  • Natural Pollutions

Our Ayurvedic Health Retreat and Spa delivers Panchakarma therapies which are specialised cleansing and rejuvenating program for the body, mind and consciousness.

Research shows that the physiologically purifying Panchakarma treatments of Ayurveda produce the following benefits:

  • Reduction in cardiovascular risk factors
  • Decreased lipid peroxide levels (LP)
  • Reduction in total cholesterol levels
  • Increased HDL cholesterol

Recommendations are unique to each individual and are validated by observation and deep knowledge derived from the ancient Vedic texts to ensure a long and healthy life

A typical Ayurvedic consultation will explore your physical, mental and emotional health to help determine the Ayurvedic treatments that will be scheduled for you.
